The Ft. Lauderdale Coin Club Board Meeting Minutes from Feb. 9, 2012

There were 9 members present at the Board Meeting. Joe Zelinski reported on membership. The following new members were voted on and received into membership:

Mark Silverman led a discussion on Educational Presentations at the club meetings. The discussion concerned when they would be and what they would consist of. It was decided that the number of lots would be 70 or 100 depending on the Educational Presentation. Bill Sanders, head of Education, said he was working on implementing the Educational Presentations. A good discussion was had by all. It is still a work in progress and Bill appreciated the input from the board.

Bill Sanders, Web Master, said that he is still working on improving the site. He presented Face Book as a option to get into. A discussion was held on the subject. We will continue to look into it.

Jackie Neumark gave a Treasurer’s report. We currently have a total of $27,312.00. She presented a written copy of our financial status for the month of January.

Steve Nolte lead the discussion on using ANA material to help celebrate Coin Week, with community outreach on April 14 at the picnic, and Sunday the 15 at the Coin Show.

Denny Thostenson asked for money for Richard Anderson and the group of members that help the Boy Scouts. This will assist the Boy Scouts to understand coin collecting and receive their badges. It was agreed upon by the board to match funds from members for this cause.
