Show Report 10/16
Last Coin & Stamp Show -10/16
Ft. Lauderdale Coin Club (3rd Sunday Show)
Volunteer Park Center
12050 West Sunrise Boulevard
Plantation, Florida (Near Sawgrass Mall)
The show had good attendance (a little off because of the rain) with good interest in bullion (1680+ Gold & 32+ Silver) and (for me) early type coins. I like to stock low grade early type for those who want an inexpensive example for their collection. The last few shows have shown more interest in this area. This week I bought a NGC AU 53 Type 1 Gold Dollar & Some Early Coppers (1826 Large Cent & a 1891 CC 1$). Pricing for me was so-so with more dealer to dealer trading than usual. Morgan’s & Peace Dollars were moving at good prices in high grades. I showed The Fractional Currency I bought at the West Palm Beach Show & had some interest in obsolete notes. Buyers seemed a bit more cautious and a little slower in committing on new purchases. Traffic was OK with a little slowing in buying for me - possibly due to the metal prices. I enjoyed talking to my regulars and picked up a couple more email addresses for the Hollywood & Ft. Lauderdale coin clubs email list.
